Dear Shepaug Parents/Guardians and Students,

One of the biggest nights of the year is approaching: Prom Night!  The date. The dress. The hair. The nails. The tux. The corsage. While the planning seems endless, the excitement is contagious! As our prom-goers embark on this right of passage, it can be a night of worry for the families waiting at home. However, because of the prom buses provided by the prevention council, students travel to and from the dance safely.

Prom transportation buses are only one of the services provided through funds raised by the Prevention Council of Bridgewater, Roxbury, and Washington (PCBRW). The PCBRW is comprised of community members who join together with the common goal of reducing the harmful effects of substance abuse and addiction in our three area towns. We strive to achieve this goal through community education, and by implementing efforts to combat and reduce substance abuse. Prom buses are an important step we take to ensure safety on this night.

Our PCBRW members include parents, students, clergy, teachers, EMS personnel, law enforcement, and local community leaders. We as a council are committed to raising awareness and promoting the safety of our children in Region 12.  Your support is instrumental in helping to continue our work. Those wanting more information on the Prevention Council, or to make a donation towards the prom buses, as well as future council programs, are encouraged to visit our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/PCBRW/), or reach the Prevention Council at PO Box 383, Washington CT 06794.

We couldn’t do what we do without help from you!  All of us on the PCBRW wish you a safe and FUN Prom Night 2018!

Sincerely,

PCBRW Prom Committee members,

Lauren Werkhoven Dave Peters Tammy Marquis Todd Dyer
